As far as the actual dish, this has been a standby at my house for years. I agree the instructions are SO WEIRD! It feels like you're cooking dessert and main course all in one dish but it really does come out super tasty in the end.CaptPocohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199867473543535234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-683629829321293491.post-41307206875830673462019-04-09T20:24:33.874-04:002019-04-09T20:24:33.874-04:00I really like putting this on top of mashed potato...I really like putting this on top of mashed potatoes instead of noodles. It was a little thick - maybe another T or two of water would do the trick. I have also made this with plain yogurt thinned with water, but did not record the proportions. It's easy to personalize, cut down, or double. My mom had a gastric bypass and food can be hard for her, so this is amazing. She can't do the tofu salad, unfortunately, because that same surgery means she can no longer process it without risking a stomach collapse (which would kill her), but you can make the ratatouille vegetarian with a cream sauce instead of building the pan tomato sauce at the end for an added protein punch.MissiYounghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10550670689550236767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-683629829321293491.post-87398514184768439112017-07-25T18:55:51.205-04:002017-07-25T18:55:51.205-04:00Are you still blogging? Are you still blogging?michelle beallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17564881701627711587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-683629829321293491.post-3451157569454693062017-07-23T19:34:15.542-04:002017-07-23T19:34:15.542-04:00I have also used this recipe. I don't know if it's a typo in the book or what, but I found that baking for the hour recommended gave me very dry bread that was scorched around the edges. So try it again with shorter baking and maybe you'll be happier with it!steveanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10275894212836023650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-683629829321293491.post-11558907064353994092017-02-14T21:19:22.175-05:002017-02-14T21:19:22.175-05:00Thanks for posting this! The instructions say to take it out and cover it with a towel not to cook it longer because it's under done it's supposed to be under done. It finishes up under the towel with its own internal heat.. kinda like resting a nice roast. If you take it out when you're supposed to and lay it on a surface covered in a towel it will finish up very nicely. High altitude needs about a 25 degree adjustment and possibly a few minutes depending on your altitude. I used to live in Lake Tahoe it is an adjustment but one that's very easily made. Also I never line a baking pan with foil ..if you grease it well it normally releases fine and cleans up easy. <br />Nice blog by the way!
