Glossybox: May

I'm very behind on all these box reviews so I'm going to flood you with them until I get caught up and then I'll write them within the week I get them.  I apologize in advance!!

Glossybox:  The May Glossybox was a special "Bergdorf Goodman" edition.  In their words "This May, GLOSSYBOX partnered with one of the most exclusive department stores in the world! We're bringing Bergdorf's to you with a luxurious, custom-designed box filled with products from some of the best beauty brands (all available at Bergdorf Goodman and bg.com)."

The unveiling--and remember, if you want beautiful pictures, you've came to the wrong blog.  These pictures are what's going to happen when you actually open your box, assuming you aren't the Martha Stewart type.  And if you are, I bow in your direction.

I'm linking everything below to Amazon.

The box:

This is a great, strong box.  For most people that would probably be useless but I decoupage and like to keep my supplies in boxes and Glossybox makes the best.  So if you craft in any way, these are extra perfect.

The main reason I wanted this Glossybox was for the Bergdorf Goodman $25 gift card.  Thank god I decided to blog today because the gift card expires in 10 days!  I immediately went and bought my weakness--Chanel nail polish.  I can't wait to get my new beautiful blue, Vendetta.  I haven't worn anything but red nail polish (ideally OPI Big Apple Red) in almost 3 years but I've been thinking of stretching my wings back to my beloved dark blues.  And it only cost me $2!

These are hard boxes to cost out because they are very, very high end products but these are samples.  So I'm going to divide out the full size amount into a trial size and we will see how that works.

Item 1:  RéVive Skincare Intensité Volumizing Eye Serum

"Powered by RES Technology and featuring Cellular Filling Complex, this advanced formula helps visibly plump, rebuild volume and re-contour the delicate eye area, “filling in hollows.” Significantly diminishes the look of dark circles, under-eye bags and crepiness. Eyes look younger, brighter and illuminated with the RéVive™ Glow.
Results:
- Visibly plumps and helps rebuild, re-contour and re-establish volume around the delicate eye area. Fills in visible deep under-eye “hollows” by plumping and smoothing skin.
- Significantly diminishes the look of dark circles, under eye-bags and crepiness.
- Helps regenerate the look of youthful skin and improve visible signs of aging by aiding in skin cell turnover."

My take: I feel (and this might not be correct but it is what it is) I'm way to young for a revitalizing cream.  That being said, this is an absolute steal.

Verdict: Going to my mom and she's going to absolutely thrilled.

Value:  Full price is $350/0.5 fluid ounces.  This is 0.1, so I'm going to say it's worth $50.

Item 2: Caviar CC Cream

"A miracle leave-in product that delivers 10 benefits in 1 easy step, leaving hair perfectly polished.
1. Moisture
2. Shine
3. Smoothness
4. Softness
5. UV protection
6. Manageability
7. Strength
8. Anti-Breakage
9. Heat Protection
10. Light Hold

Can be used alone or as a foundation for the layering of other styling products."

My take: Can't wait to try this.  I have long hair and this seems like the full package.  I'm always looking for new, improved hair products and I also like UV protection in my hair products since I walk to work.  It's not even particularly expensive.

Verdict: Huge keep.

Value:  Full price is $25/2.5 fluid ounces.  This is 0.85, so I'm going to say 8.50.

Item 3: Napoleon Perdis Auto-Pilot pre-foundation skin primer

"Makeup has never had a smoother landing. Get (even more) gorgeous with this gentle, pre-makeup base. Scientifically formulated to allow your makeup to “automatically” glide over the skin, Auto Pilot helps to prime and soothe the complexion for that flawless finish and helps makeup last even longer. Chamomile, Yarrow extract and Vitamin E deliver complexion perfection and instant hydration for all skin types."

My take: I don't wear any makeup.  I know, now you are thinking "why in the heck do you get these boxes?".  Well, between the cards, the skin products, and the hair products, they usually pay for themselves.  Plus the extra makes a great gift for my mom.

Verdict: Give to mom.

Value:  Full price is $45/1.7 fluid ounces.  This is 0.21 but split into 7 little packets, so I'm going to say $5.50.

Item 4: Atelier cologne rose anonyme cologne absolue

"Rose Anonyme, a breathtaking seductress caught in a stolen affair between light and dark, Turkish Rose Absolute sparkles and intrigues beneath notes of spicy ginger, enwrapped in sultry veil of velvet oud, Indonesian patchouli, mystic papyrus, and Somalian incense."

My take:I'm allergic to almost all fragrances, as I've said before but this one smells absolutely terrific and I wish I could wear it because it's a spectacular smell.

Verdict: Give to mom, probably

Value:  Full price is $140/3.4 fluid ounces.  This is 0.24, so I'm going to say $9.88.

Item 5:  Lancer Lift Serum Intense

"Intense Lift Serum utilizes pure gold and Stem Cell Recovery Complex, an exclusive plant stem-cell compound that delivers firming and lifting effects to skin.  The electromagnetically neutral gold and moisture-holding molecules support skin's natural cycle to look smoother, firmer, and younger"

My take:  As above, I fell that I don't need this yet, although that might be wrong.

Verdict: Give to mom, probably

Value:  Full price is $275/.85 fluid ounces.  This is 0.17, so I'm going to say $55.  Yes, that's $55 for a tiny sample.  It's possible I'm going to sell this all on the internet.

Item 6:  Hourglass Cosmetics Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara

" A sensational all-around mascara with dramatic, cinematic results: Film Noir volumizes, lengthens, separates, and conditions lashes all at once.  The signature hourglass-shaped brush is designed for optimal application."

My take:  Love, love, love new mascaras.  Mascaras and eyeliner are my Achilles's heels.

Verdict: KEEP!!

Value:  Full price is $28/.35 fluid ounces.  This is 0.15, so I'm going to say $12.

All in all, $149.88 for $21/month.  SUCH A GOOD DEAL.  I didn't even add in the gift card--which would bring it up to about $175.

Another month?  Surprisingly, yes.
